About The Position

The Senior Group Manager, Marketing Planning – Credit Cards Loyalty plays a critical leadership role in delivering the TD Loyalty North Star vision and shaping the end‑to‑end marketing strategy for the TD Rewards program. This role is accountable for driving awareness, engagement, and value realization across the loyalty ecosystem through data‑driven, customer-centric marketing strategies. Key focus areas include: Increasing awareness: Build broad customer understanding of TD Rewards program benefits, including partnerships, experiential offerings, and flexible redemption options. Driving engagement: Deepen customer participation by helping cardholders maximize the value they derive from the loyalty ecosystem. Activating data-driven moments: Leverage insights and analytics to deliver targeted, timely strategies that reinforce program benefits at key customer moments and drive redemption behaviour. Simplifying the experience: Streamline and elevate the loyalty journey by reducing friction and making it easier for customers to understand, access, and optimize their rewards.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required
  • 10+ years relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Coach team to understand & synthesize consumer trends, identifying research gaps and planning market research, interpreting consumer information for your business, anticipating customer opportunities, generating & applying customer insights.
  • Identify the brand's strengths and weaknesses, recognize the drivers and indicators of brand health and recommend corrective actions. Apply the Brand House to all aspects of marketing and be the key resource for the business on the brand. Understand end to end customer journeys and support the business to deliver the brand through customer experience.
  • Provide thought leadership, strategic advice to executives within the business, be the voice of the customer and a trusted advisor to business partners for all marketing and customer activities. Influence and have an impact on price, product, distribution and promotions. Build and maintain close working relationships with key business partners to understand and influence business strategic priorities, and direction, ensuring that business objectives can be converted into effective marketing plans or customer strategies.
  • Set the tone and ensure the integrity of the approved Annual Marketing Plan is being delivered in a transparent way. Constantly evaluate and recommend change to improve business impact via marketing investment.
  • Leadership and approval of campaigns and oversight of marketing execution for all projects within assigned limits and parameters to ensure on strategy execution, appropriate governance and stakeholder approvals are delivered. Coach and lead the team through the development of budget allocations, media strategy and creative executions. Leverage and build relationships with internal/external lead creative and media agencies.
  • Work closely with key business leaders to develop business plan, ensuring the optimal use of resources and leverage TD’s operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and scale
  • Plan and execute on strategic activities, review and communicate results, and adjust tactics accordingly
  • Execute on the annual business plan to deliver results aligned with business strategies
  • Manage overall budget, revenue and expenditures, meet business objectives while increasing efficiency and effectiveness
  • Proactively identify key business opportunities, research and recommend enhancements / modifications, develop strategies to achieve recommendations and work closely with team to execute and implement
  • Can improve or create new processes for the organization, with a medium to longer term impact
  • Monitor and communicate the effectiveness of strategies, programs, and practices related to own area of expertise
  • Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk transactions / activities as necessary
  • Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

  • Develop a team of marketers in all aspects of the marketing competencies and act as resource and mentor to others

  • Leadership and approval of campaigns and oversight of marketing execution for all projects within portfolio, leadership role in all BU campaigns to ensure on strategy execution, appropriate governance and stakeholder approvals are delivered
  • Provides coaching, mentorship and guidance to practitioners, business, executives within area of expertise
  • Manages and oversees the overall discipline and strategy for the respective areas while aligning to the enterprise best practices
  • Strategic partner to leadership team on the management of the portfolio and financials, with deep industry, external / internal, enterprise knowledge, recognizing and anticipating emerging trends and; identifying operational efficiencies and opportunities with other business management / enterprise areas
  • Facilitate key strategic discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audience (output may include strategic roadmap and/or deliverables/ frameworks/ short to long term goals etc.)
  • Set operational team direction and collaborate with others to execute on common goals
  • Focus on longer-range planning for functional area (e.g. 12 months or greater)
