About The Position

Ontada, a McKesson business, is seeking a Senior Manager, KOL Strategy & Clinical Content to develop and oversee a compliant Key Opinion Leader (KOL) speaker bureau to lead and support clinically accurate oncology education initiatives. This role is ideal for a clinical professional, preferably with community oncology experience, who can translate complex oncology literature into clear, actionable educational assets, provide clinical guidance for digital and EHR-enabled initiatives, and build meaningful relationships with Key Opinion Leaders.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires 9+ years of professional experience and 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience.
  • Clinical degree/background required (e.g., RN, BSN, NP); community oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in clinical education, medical communications, medical affairs, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, managing, and developing KOLs, including contracting and speaker program support.
  • Excellent scientific writing and synthesis skills; ability to simplify complex clinical information for oncologist audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with advanced oncology modalities (e.g., CAR-T, bispecific antibodies, apheresis, precision medicine).
  • Experience supporting EHR-integrated and/or digital oncology education initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operationalize a KOL speaker bureau, defining strategy, identification, segmentation, contracting, onboarding & training, governance, and ongoing optimization.
  • Identify, engage, and develop oncology KOLs across community and academic settings; maintain strong, compliant relationships over time.
  • Measure bureau performance, gather stakeholder feedback, and continuously improve speaker quality, program execution, and experience.
  • Translate publications, congress data, and evolving standards of care into concise educational assets (e.g., podcast scripts, case studies, articles, blog posts, and presentations).
  • Ensure all deliverables are clinically accurate, audience-appropriate, and aligned with medical, legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide clinical support and actionable feedback on EHR-driven educational initiatives to ensure programs are operationally feasible and aligned with program objectives and desired outcomes.
  • Partner cross-functionally with medical, marketing, product, compliance, legal, and field teams to plan and execute integrated oncology education strategies.
  • Provide clinical context for digital initiatives related to biomarkers, adverse event/side-effect management, treatment pathways, and point-of-care decision support.
  • Ensure all speaker bureau and educational activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and industry codes, including requirements related to scientific exchange, fair balance, approved messaging, transparency, documentation, and transfer-of-value reporting.
  • Maintain appropriate controls to prevent off-label promotion and ensure required medical/legal/compliance reviews are completed and retained.
