About The Position

The Sr. Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis will play a pivotal role in supporting Project Finance, Technology, Security, Operations, and Facilities. Reporting to the Director of FP&A, this individual contributor position partners with key stakeholders across the organization to deliver insightful financial analysis, drive process improvements, and support strategic decision-making. The role may evolve to include direct reports in the future. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in FP&A or related financial roles.
  • Experienced leader managing multiple capital projects, process improvements, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP, Essbase, and Power BI.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Must be legally eligible to work at the location(s) specified and, where applicable, must have a valid work or study permit.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Accounting and Operations teams to ensure accurate and timely month-end close for assigned areas.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of technology and real estate terminology, and apply the appropriate accounting treatment under both IFRS and GAAP.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of financial results, identify trends, and effectively communicate key variance drivers to stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality financial reports, forecasts, and presentations to senior management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Lead and coordinate the annual planning process for supported functions, including budget development, scenario analysis, and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Provide comprehensive financial support for capital projects, including business case evaluation, financial modeling, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Foster strong relationships with Technology, Security, Operations, and Facilities teams to understand business priorities and deliver actionable financial insights.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance FP&A processes, reporting, and analytics.
  • Champion best practices to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support strategic initiatives and business cases through robust financial modeling and analysis.
  • Deliver high-quality work on special projects and ad hoc requests as needed.
