Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business management is required; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years of previous relevant experience in an accounting position is required.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in Microsoft Excel (i.e., filters, pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Blend of public and private accounting is preferred.
  • Previous work experience within transportation and logistics strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle finance platform preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Management and oversight of direct reporting employees including performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Facilitate monthly financial closing in accordance with the timelines and processes established.
  • Review monthly account reconciliations.
  • Participate in the continual improvement and development of processes, procedures and training documentation.
  • Assist Corporate with local non-income tax filings.
  • Assist with annual insurance and financial audits.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation.
  • Evaluate subsidiary journals for obvious errors and omissions and enter corrected data into general ledger.
  • Collaborate with Corporate FP&A team on financial preparation and analysis.
  • Cross-functionally train within the department to provide back-up to the VP, Controller, and other positions as needed.
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, etc. as needed and required.
  • Participate in the recruitment of department staffing or the division with approvals from the executive leadership teams.
  • All other duties and projects as assigned
