About The Position

SimpliSafe is a high-tech home security company dedicated to protecting homes and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. SimpliSafe embraces a hybrid work model, requiring teams to be in the office two core days (typically Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday) and allowing remote work for the rest of the week. This role is for an AI-native systems leader for Ecommerce platforms, responsible for the technical strategy, governance, and day-to-day operations of the platform portfolio that drives experimentation, personalization, and site operations. The Sr. Manager will act as the team's systems architect, designing resilient event and identity models, integration patterns, and production data flows. They will lead a small platform team, define the roadmap, and collaborate with various cross-functional stakeholders including Growth, Engineering, Strategic Delivery, Analytics, and Acquisition. The role also involves prototyping and operationalizing AI workflows and agentic automations to enhance team efficiency, as well as managing platform governance, runbooks, SLAs, and vendor relationships.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in MarTech, analytics, or platform operations, with demonstrated ownership of enterprise marketing/ecommerce platforms
• 3+ years of people leadership or equivalent technical leadership
• Track record owning or architecting a MarTech/analytics stack (event/data layer, CDP, tag management, experimentation/personalization platforms, session replay, or similar tools)
• Strong technical skills: proficiency with event instrumentation and tagging (Google Tag Manager), CDPs (Rudderstack or similar), APIs, and data pipelines
• Fluent with SQL and comfortable working with engineers on data modeling
• Practical experience designing and operationalizing AI workflows or automation
• Proven experience managing vendor relationships, defining platform governance, and implementing SLAs, runbooks, and governance processes
• Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills — capable of translating technical tradeoffs to business partners and leading collaborative roadmaps
• Strong judgment around privacy, data governance, and security requirements (e.g., GDPR/CCPA implications for tracking and personalization)
• Passion for experimentation, operational rigor, and building systems that make teams faster and more autonomous

Responsibilities

• Be our AI-native systems leader for Ecommerce platforms, owning the technical strategy, governance, and day-to-day operations of the platform portfolio that powers experimentation, personalization, and site operations.
• Design resilient event and identity models, integration patterns, and production data flows that scale while enabling rapid, safe experimentation.
• Lead a small platform team, set the roadmap, and partner across Growth, Engineering, Strategic Delivery, Analytics, Acquisition, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
• Prototype and operationalize AI workflows and agentic automations that make the entire team faster and more efficient.
• Own platform governance, runbooks, SLAs, and vendor relationships.
• Platform ownership & governance: Own SimpliSafe’s ecommerce platform stack (experimentation/personalization platform, CDP, Google Tag Manager, AI assistant, Microsoft Clarity, and related systems). Define governance, data standards, SLAs, and vendor relationships for each platform.
• System architecture: Serve as the cross-platform systems architect: design the event/data layer, identity stitching, API integrations, and data flows that enable reliable experimentation, personalization, and analytics.
• Experimentation enablement: Drive enhancements to the experimentation framework and personalization integrations to increase testing velocity, reduce time-to-launch, and improve experiment quality and learnings.
• AI workflows & automation: Design, pilot, and scale AI workflows and automation that reduce manual work (experiment setup, analysis, insight generation, prioritization) and responsibly surface AI-driven recommendations to the team.
• Operational excellence: Implement runbooks, monitoring, cost controls, capacity planning, and performance tracking for platform health and uptime. Own change management and release processes for platform changes.
• Self-service & tooling: Build intuitive tooling, templates, docs, and training to enable stakeholders to self-serve their work safely and effectively.
• Leadership & team growth: Hire, coach, and develop the team; set objectives, prioritize work, and model a data-driven, collaborative culture.
• Measurement & reporting: Define success metrics (experimentation velocity, platform availability, self-service adoption, etc.) and deliver clear dashboards/reports to leadership.
