About The Position

We're looking for a Sr. Manager, DCI Cost Management to own the tactical execution layer of our DCI Cost Management function. You'll keep accruals current, ensure vendor invoices are processed and paid on time, track budgets by cost center, and maintain accurate asset data across our sites. You'll work closely with Project Management, Vendor Management, and on-site Technical Program Management teams on a daily basis, and you'll provide the financial analysis, modeling, and data research that lets our Sr. Director make timely, well-grounded decisions on FP&A, program controls, and asset management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in accounting, financial operations, cost tracking, or asset management, preferably within infrastructure, datacenter, manufacturing, or capital-intensive industries
  • Strong working knowledge of accrual accounting, receipting processes, period-close workflows, and budget preparation
  • Experience coordinating vendor invoice processing across multiple active supplier relationships
  • Hands-on experience with budget tracking, variance analysis, and cost center reporting
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to manage a high volume of invoices, cost data, and asset records concurrently across multiple sites
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with project management, Vendor Management, and on-site operations teams
  • Familiarity with ERP or financial management systems (SAP, NetSuite, or equivalent)
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, proficient in Excel financial modeling, scenario analysis, and data synthesis
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing analytical and operational priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience maintaining asset registers or operational databases in a multi-site infrastructure environment
  • Familiarity with asset management or DCIM platforms
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent)
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; CPA candidate a plus

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day accounting operations: accruals, receipting, period-close activities, and financial ledger accuracy
  • Flag accrual gaps, receipting discrepancies, or payment delays with recommended resolutions
  • Produce monthly accrual and payment status reports
  • Support period-close processes, ensuring all operational expenditure is captured, accrued, and reconciled on schedule in coordination with corporate Finance
  • Support the annual budgeting process for the Business Operations division, including cost center inputs and budget templates
  • Track actuals against approved budgets by cost center monthly; flag material variances with explanations and recommended actions
  • Prepare budget vs. actuals reports and variance narratives for QBR and leadership forum packages
  • Process and track vendor invoices across all active supplier relationships; ensure invoices are validated, coded, and submitted for payment on time
  • Coordinate with Vendor Management on purchase order status, invoice validation, and payment disputes
  • Maintain the operational asset register across all active Nscale sites, keeping asset records, condition data, location, and lifecycle stage information current and accurate
  • Track spare parts inventory levels against minimum stock thresholds, flagging sites approaching threshold so procurement can be initiated before a gap occurs
  • Support the pre-RFS asset register baseline process, ensuring all systems and equipment are formally recorded before RFS
  • Produce the asset register status report on a regular cadence, covering asset condition, replacement timeline flags, and spare parts inventory health
  • Partner with Strategic Project Management to ensure project costs are accurately tracked, accrued, and reflected in financial reporting
  • Serve as the operational finance and cost point of contact for Project Management, Vendor Management, and on-site Technical Program Management teams
  • Build and maintain financial models, including cost forecasting models, CapEx/OpEx tracking templates, and scenario analysis frameworks
  • Conduct data research and analysis on cost variances, deployment spend trends, vendor pricing, and asset lifecycle costs
  • Prepare financial analysis packages for QBRs, board presentations, and leadership forums, ensuring all figures are reconciled and audit-ready
  • Research market rates, benchmark data, and industry comparisons to support investment cases, vendor renegotiations, or program controls decisions
  • Respond to ad-hoc analytical requests with speed and accuracy, turning around data pulls, model updates, and cost analysis on tight timelines
