About The Position

Bloomingdale's is looking for a Senior Manager of Data Analytics to lead the company’s team in building industry-leading dashboards, reporting, and insights. They will lead the integration and development of advanced analytics across the Marketing, Digital and Customer functions. The ideal candidate will have the technical aptitude to work with the Data Science and Data Engineering teams to create seamless transitions across the functions that derive key insights for business users to leverage in a usable format for making decisions. In addition, it is critical that they can translate complex concepts into simple, actionable ways for business users to understand and execute. The candidate will possess strong communication and organization skills to execute both short- and long-term projects. The Senior Manager of Data Analytics will be responsible for working with a wide variety of both Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s colleagues and external vendors on data requirements to support strategic business needs and developing the expertise of a team of Data Analysts. This person will report to the Senior Director of Data Science, Engineering and Advanced Analytics.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
3-5 years of direct experience.
Strong understanding of core analytical and statistical methods.
Extensive experience in SQL and Python.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Big Query, Big Table, Pub/Sub, DataFlow, DataProc), real-time and batch processing.
Experience with Instrumentation (tagging, JSON), Experimentation, and Product Analytics (A/B Testing)
Demonstrated track record of translating advanced analytics and data and articulating key insights to create value and improve business performance.
Background and familiarity with Business Intelligence and Analytics tools (Tableau, Google Data Studio, PowerBI, Looker, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Outlier.ai, PyCharm, or similar).
Customer-centric, analytics expert with experience in accelerating analytics use cases and transforming data into business value in the retail/department store context.
Ability to share technical information, communicate technical issues and solutions to all levels of business.
Working in an Agile environment with a cross functional and globally distributed team with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Ability to collaborate and work closely with cross-functional teams - Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, business and solution architects and partners.
Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels.
Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically; strong analytical/problem solving skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs.
This role involves performing essential job functions such as communication, collaboration, and use of office and computer systems.
Responsibilities include the ability to access and review written and electronic information, and to move within the work environment and interact with workplace materials as needed to carry out job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Recruit, lead, coach, and mentor a team of talented data analysts across, Digital, Marketing, Customer, and DEI functions in ushering a new era of innovative analytics at the company.
Lead alignment of best-in-class analytics for Bloomingdale’s including coordination with leadership.
Mentor team members in translating business requirements into technical solutions in a way that is responsive to the needs of stakeholders.
Balance both leading a team and engaging directly with the work needed to accomplish the priority use cases to translate advanced analytics into key insights usable by business users.
Partner closely with Data Science, Data Engineering, Technology, and Business Units to drive adoption, integration of advanced analytics, statistics, and ML output into dashboards and reporting, as well as provide direct analytical support where needed.
Provide central resource support to business to ensure successful use case delivery in Business Units.
Comply with analytics standards, including guidelines for tailoring analytics methodologies to specific use case needs.
Define internal or external, batch or real-time streaming data needs, evaluate data quality, and extract/manipulate data in a "Big Data" environment.
Create compelling interactive visualizations and presentations to enhance decision making capabilities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
