Department OverviewThis role will be the responsable of the development, communication, and execution of an impactful Restaurant and Corporate Staff Listening Strategy and any related capabilities that align with business objectives and engages and retains top talent. This role will collaborate with key cross-functional stakeholders, internal teams, leaders, and vendor partners, to ensure the Listening Strategy is integrated throughout frontline and corporate employee engagement strategies, enhancing the overall employee experience. This role will accountable for 3-5 year Restaurant and Corporate Staff Strategic Vision and Roadmap, which includes enhancements to existing tools and solutions. This role will be part of the Restaurant People Experience & Culture team and the Culture and Listening sub-team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in frontline employee experience and engagement, stakeholder and change management to deploy listening solutions, and a data-driven approach to executing programs effectively.

  • 7-9+ years combined experience in roles such as people strategy, general strategy, and/or consulting roles
  • Experience in leading multiple workstreams and cross-functional team of SME’s to execute People strategies required
  • Experience working with ambiguity to define clear scope based on discovery and analysis is required
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field with an advanced degree preferred
  • Experience with supporting a globally dispersed workforce
  • Experience building strategies for frontline employees preferred
  • Comfort working with and presenting to executives
  • Ability to successfully execute against multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to use disparate workforce datasets to help design and drive adoption of people programs
  • Exceptional communication style with an ability to adapt approach to meet needs of audience
  • Demonstrated ability to create relationships and influence partners

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Director, Culture and Engagement to define scope and success metrics of listening initiatives and ensure programs are aligned to high-value talent objectives
  • Support the development of Restaurant and corporate listening strategies and programs that cultivate and enhance company culture across the system, fostering a positive working environment and an engaged, productive workforce.
  • Develop roadmaps and design strategic initiatives in order to drive employee engagement
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices, being the listening expert
  • Lead any necessary knowledge transfer to understand historical context strategy and inform future strategy for any existing tools and solutions
  • In a transforming and changing environment, define clear roles and responsibilities across various functions (e.g. Operations, etc.)
  • Define and collect metrics to understand effectiveness of current and future tools and solutions to inform roadmap
  • Work closely with third party survey vendors to gauge employee sentiment and analyse current state employee engagement to identify issues and develop strategies to address gaps
  • Assess current engagement level and utilize innovative thought leadership and market best practices to bridge the gap between the existing and desired organizational culture
  • Engage and inspire both frontline and corporate employees to foster a thriving, employee-focused workplace environment
  • Utilize metrics and feedback to gain strategic insights and provide recommendations leading to continuous improvement of McDonald’s global culture
  • Stay up-to-date and informed on trends and innovations in organization effectiveness
  • Design and lead a market‑leading Listening Strategy aligned to McDonald’s vision and talent retention
  • Embed and communicate the Listening Strategy across Global and market People strategies
  • Gather employee and market insights to continuously refine the strategy
  • Act as Listening subject‑matter expert, educating stakeholders on engagement and retention
  • Lead the Listening team, projects, knowledge transfer, and role definition with PEX
