As the Sr Manager, Construction, you will lead a portfolio of construction, renovation, and remodeling projects across new and existing properties, turning strategy into safe, efficient, and high‑quality execution. You will guide a team of construction professionals and partners, connecting day‑to‑day project delivery with broader business goals. Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • 10 or more years of progressive experience in construction, project delivery, or a related field
  • 3 or more years of experience leading people and/or planning and managing resources to meet defined objectives
  • Intermediate proficiency managing construction budgets, contracts, and financial performance
  • Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodations, to comply with the following: Operate company vehicle on site premises and / or public roads up to 5%
  • Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and perform occasional duties
  • Transport articles up to 50 pounds
  • Climb ladders and stairs up to 200 feet
  • Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines, around chemicals and hydrocarbons under high pressure and heat, and in harsh weather conditions
  • Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment
  • Maintain face daily for proper respirator/face mask seal. (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)

Nice To Haves

  • 12 or more years of experience in construction or capital project delivery, including 5 or more years of people leadership
  • Experience managing complex portfolios of industrial, refining, or energy‑related construction projects
  • Hands‑on experience using construction technologies such as building information modeling and advanced project management systems to improve execution and coordination
  • Proven success leading cross‑functional teams and external partners to deliver large projects safely, on time, and on budget
  • Experience building inclusive, high‑performing teams and scaling consistent leadership practices across a department, in line with our Lead Forward expectations

Responsibilities

  • Lead and set direction for a portfolio of construction, renovation, and remodeling projects on new and existing facilities, translating business strategy into clear plans, priorities, and outcomes.
  • Model integrity by setting clear expectations for safety, quality, and ethical conduct, honoring commitments, and ensuring work complies with company standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Take ownership of departmental results by managing budgets, forecasts, and financial performance for construction activities, using financial and project data to make timely decisions and keep projects on track.
  • Build and develop a cohesive team of construction professionals and contractors by clarifying roles, providing coaching and feedback, and recognizing achievements so people do their best work together.
  • Break down barriers by collaborating across engineering, operations, procurement, and external partners to resolve issues, align on priorities, and deliver integrated project solutions.
  • Navigate ambiguity by providing clarity and stability for the team when scope, timing, or priorities shift, making sound trade‑offs and guiding others through change while maintaining progress.
  • Oversee construction execution and contract management, including bid strategy, vendor selection, negotiation, and ongoing contract performance to deliver projects safely, with high quality, on time, and on budget.
  • Establish and manage performance objectives, metrics, and reviews for direct reports and key contractors, holding people accountable, giving clear feedback, and adjusting plans to meet annual business goals.
  • Leverage construction technologies (such as project management systems and building information modeling) to improve planning, coordination, reporting, and decision‑making across projects.
