About The Position

The Senior Manager, Communities of Practice and Operations facilitates collaboration with public affairs colleagues on critical policy topics and oversees the organization of related projects to ensure alignment and effectiveness. This position also plays a role in managing and executing tasks associated with Takeda’s engagement with trade associations and other external groups . This role reports directly to the Director, Public Affairs and Operations, providing strategic support on a variety of U.S. Public Affairs initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree
  • 5 + years of experience in international affairs
  • Strong understanding of public affairs, public administration, political engagement, and advocacy
  • Ability to bring people together, stimulate discussions, and curate relevant knowledge to foster a trusted environment
  • Experience with digital collaboration tools, project management software and CRM systems
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication to engage diverse stakeholders across different levels of seniority.
  • Ability to independently manage initiatives, organize events, and coordinate across teams.
  • High emotional intelligence, curiosity, patience, and the ability to build trust and encourage participation in a non-judgmental, collaborative space.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate public affairs communities of practice for Takeda colleagues, encompassing international and U.S. public affairs, public policy, community health, patient advocacy, and international advocacy.
  • Manage Takeda networks that are dedicated to sharing knowledge on public policy, political advocacy, patient advocacy, multilateral engagement, and operational topics through effective project management.
  • Foster knowledge sharing among stakeholders, ensuring that teams are aligned on key policy issues and that advocacy efforts remain cohesive and effective.
  • Engage with key contacts outside your expertise area and contribute to the development of new concepts and standards
  • Manage large projects or processes with limited oversight .
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex problems aligned with organizational objectives .
  • Support the SVP of U.S. Public Affairs in management of Takeda’s cross-functional Public Affairs Leadership Team (PALT).
  • Execute ad-hoc projects as requested by the SVP, USPA and manager.
