About The Position

In this role you will be responsible for multiple, critical components of our Perception System. You will collaborate with other leaders in the Perception team and in the broader Autonomy organization to deliver a continuously improving and expanding set of autonomy and active safety features to our customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive professional experience in Machine Learning for Perception and Robotics with a track record of delivering results in high-complexity systems and managing high-performing ML teams.
• Extensive professional experience in Software Development and managing high-performing software teams.
• Strong problem solving and coordination skills and an ability to operate effectively in a highly cross functional and fast paced environment.
• Excellent team player with strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other leads in Perception and in the broader Autonomy organization to set the technical direction for the organization and continuously deliver improved autonomy and safety features for Rivian’s customers.
• Manage multiple sub-teams in Perception with a wide range of responsibilities. Examples include Offline Perception for auto-labeling to supervise our system, Data Loop tools and operations to deliver data-driven improvements to our system and Evaluation tools to understand system performance and make release decisions.
• Collaborate with our HW/EE teams to define sensor requirements and make sensor tradeoff decisions.
