Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, or a related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered
  • 5+ years of experience supporting automation, controls, manufacturing systems, or related technologies
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience, including management of teams of eight or more employees
  • At least one year of direct, hands-on experience designing, installing, maintaining, or troubleshooting automated control systems
  • Experience leading technical projects from planning through implementation
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working within regulated environments with quality and compliance requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, GxP-regulated manufacturing, nuclear, naval, or similarly structured technical environments
  • Knowledge of software change control, deviation investigations, CAPA, and automation quality systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a highly-skilled group of technical professionals
  • Set priorities, delegate workload, and help the team deliver work accurately and on time
  • Cultivate a collaborative environment built on trust, respect, and accountability
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance discussions, and development planning conversations
  • Lead vendor relationships that support automation systems, infrastructure, and external service providers
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, Engineering, and IT teams to resolve issues and improve system performance
  • Lead projects that improve reliability, efficiency, and operational performance
  • Support validation activities including design reviews, testing, and implementation of automation changes
  • Supervise GxP-regulated software and automation systems, including change control, investigations, and corrective actions
  • Participate in an on-call rotation approximately every fourth week and remain available to support critical business needs
  • Provide technical and automation support for manufacturing operations and business-critical systems
  • Be responsible for periodic evaluations of automated systems used in commercial manufacturing
  • Develop an understanding of the site's automation landscape, including more than 400 servers and 22 manufacturing unit operations
