About The Position

Amazon Leo is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon Leo will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity. Silicon NPI (New Product Introduction) leads the transition of complex semiconductor products from design to high-volume manufacturing (HVM). Responsibilities include driving cross-functional strategies for engineering validation, manufacturing yield, supply chain readiness, and cost optimization, ensuring on-time delivery of samples and production ramps.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, material engineering, mechanical engineering or related fields
  • 12–15+ years in semiconductor operations, NPI, or product engineering, with a proven track record in high-volume silicon manufacturing
  • Deep understanding of silicon wafer fab, 3D packaging, or complex ASIC development
  • Experience leading large, diverse, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the end-to-end silicon NPI strategy, aligning with Product Management, Engineering, and Operations teams to meet product lifecycle milestones (EVT, DVT, PVT)
  • Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) requirements. Optimize wafer fabrication, assembly, and test processes to maximize yield and reduce costs, including in advanced packaging.
  • Oversee vendor management, contract manufacturer (CM) strategy, and material procurement to ensure capacity and timely engineering build schedules.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to resolve technical and supply constraints during the NPI phase, ensuring a seamless transfer to mass production
  • Guarantee that products meet quality standards and reliability specifications before product release in conjunction with the Quality team.
