About The Position

Dialpad is seeking a Sr. Manager, Agentic Sales Engineering, a leader with both technical depth and strategic sales acumen. This role reports to the Vice President of Sales Engineering and is responsible for recruiting, mentoring, and directing a team of Forward Deployed Engineers. These engineers translate complex business challenges into high-impact, Agentic AI systems. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, leads from the front, and acts as a technically fluent business consultant and trusted AI architect for customers. This position involves partnering across Sales, Product, and Engineering to ensure the adoption of Dialpad's AI platform and its integration into customers' operations. The role leads a specialized, high-impact technical division within the global Sales organization, focusing on building the future of communication through Agentic AI. The team acts as the 'special forces' of the Go-To-Market strategy, embedding with strategic accounts to bridge the gap between AI potential and production-ready reality.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of customer-facing technical experience (Sales Engineering, FDE, or Solutions Architecture).
  • Minimum 5 years of people management experience, specifically leading technical teams.
  • Deep, demonstrable expertise in the modern AI/ML stack: LLMs, Vector Databases, and Agent Orchestration Frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Python, Go, or JS/TS.
  • Ability to simplify technical complexity and communicate clear ROI and trade-offs to non-technical C-suite executives.
  • High emotional intelligence with a 'scrappy' mentor mindset, taking initiative and thinking creatively to achieve goals under tight timelines.
  • Strong analytical skills to use data for improving team effectiveness and product vision.

Responsibilities

  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of Forward Deployed Engineers, coaching them in technical AI/ML skills and C-suite communication.
  • Provide strategic Go-To-Market leadership by partnering with Sales leadership to identify key accounts where Agentic AI is a differentiator.
  • Actively participate in the sales cycle, offering leadership, technical authority, and strategic deal support.
  • Serve as a link between the field and the lab, synthesizing customer pain points, integration patterns, and platform limitations to influence the Product and Engineering roadmap.
  • Guide the team in designing complex multi-agent systems, retrieval pipelines (RAG), and decision logic that integrate with CRMs, ERPs, and custom APIs via the MCP framework.
  • Create and implement new systems for 'AI Envisioning' sessions to help customers navigate cloud/data infrastructure for AI bot implementation.
  • Ensure the team drives execution by building 'shippable' capabilities that validate customer investments during pre-sales and early deployment.
