About The Position

Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment. This role involves performing regular preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment during operational hours. The technician will also handle various mechanic-based tasks including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting manuals, diagnosing problems, performing routine plumbing and carpentry, and using a variety of tools. The role requires detecting faulty operations, maintaining electronic records, ordering parts, and adhering to health, safety, and Lean manufacturing principles. Additionally, the technician will assist team members, assess building systems, plan work priorities, evaluate maintenance needs, and support audits and contractors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least five years of maintenance experience required.
  • Mechanical knowledge.
  • Electrical trouble shooting.
  • General mechanical aptitude with knowledge of building and utility systems.
  • General ability to read mechanical blueprints and electrical schematic diagrams.
  • Computer literacy to allow for interface with maintenance management systems.
  • Ability to identify issues and to determine repairs that are needed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed to complete reports, logs, and inventory.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior locksmith, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry or painting experience preferred.
  • Associate degree and Experience with training and leading others is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities, and visually inspect and test assigned machines and equipment for proper functionality.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
  • Perform mechanic-based tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, trouble shooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust.
  • Perform a variety of routine plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Track and maintain electronic records on all maintenance and repairs to machines and facility.
  • Order/requisition parts as needed.
  • Follow company and departmental principles, rules, guidelines, etc. with regards to health and safety, ISO and IATF requirements, Lean manufacturing principles, and good housekeeping.
  • Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments.
  • Assesses building systems to plan work assignments.
  • Works with maintenance lead to plan work priorities, obtain necessary supplies, and assess skills needed to complete tasks.
  • Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that are needed.
  • Help with spares, inventory, parts, and contractors.
  • Supports audits.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
