Requirements

  • Minimum HS Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of applicable experience/demonstrated skill required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Operate safely and receive training in all relevant plant safety programs.
  • Understand technical drawings and schematics for electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Troubleshoot repairs, and collaborate with automated equipment, modify, or write new software using PLC systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.).
  • Implement new PLC Controllers and Software to improve reliability, quality, and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot/repair photo eyes, limit and proximity switches, temperature controllers, variable speed drives, motors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, electrical systems up to 480V, 3 phase, component level repair of obsolete control components.
  • Work well with hand tools, understand how gearboxes, convey systems, etc. work, fabricate, operate skyjack, scissor lift, forklift, counterbalance, ladder work.
  • Develop cross-functional expertise (i.e. electrical/controls/mechanical).
  • Apply GMP to daily routine.
  • Identify Hazard IDs, troubleshoot/accurately address them or assist in getting plan to accurately resolve them.
  • Lead contractors or other maintenance techs on projects.
  • Ensure contractors adhere to GMP, safety regulations, and possess training required to operate in a facility.
  • Have regular and predictable attendance.
  • Be self-motivated, continually improve, and find work that needs to be done.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical associate's degree (2 year) preferred but not required.
  • Welding, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC a plus.
  • Have knowledge of Hepa filtration systems, UV Light systems, appliance repair.
  • Fabrication experience (welding, basic shop activities).

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on automated production machinery to reduce equipment downtime and meet production schedules.
  • Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance as required to ensure equipment availability.
  • Focus on process and equipment improvement and innovation.
  • Understand regulatory and documentation procedures for initiating and fully implementing new manufacturing processes and equipment with minimum supervision.
  • Collaborate closely with production, quality, engineering, drafting, purchasing, and suppliers to support plant operations and capital projects.
  • Investigate root cause technical issues and work independently or in a team to mitigate them.
  • Seek out opportunities for improvement for the company, the plant, co-workers, and yourself.
  • Engage and empower others while continuing to improve your own abilities.
  • Participate in training of Production Technicians and Maintenance Techs.
  • Operate safely and receive training in all relevant plant safety programs.
  • Perform equipment relocations, crate or uncrate parts, and make mechanical adjustments and alignments.
  • Identify and order spare parts.
  • Detail all work done.
  • Clean up before leaving and keep the shop tidy.
  • Attend relevant trainings and meetings.
  • Participate in projects and upgrades.
  • Understand technical drawings and schematics for electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Manage a basic project budget.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve technical issues.
  • Troubleshoot repairs, and collaborate with automated equipment, modify, or write new software using PLC systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.).
