About The Position

The Sr. Machine Learning Engineer will play a lead technical role in conceptualizing, designing, and evaluating next-generation planning and guidance software for Intuitive’s Ion endoluminal robotic platform, which supports minimally invasive biopsy in the peripheral lung. The role develops algorithms to analyze chest medical images for complex lung diseases, with a focus on processing and fusing CT, CBCT, and X-ray images for lung structure segmentation, system navigation, and target localization to improve clinical outcomes. The engineer drives medical imaging analysis software development from R&D concepts through robust commercial medical-device products. The position designs, prototypes, and implements imaging and machine learning algorithms, adapts advanced model architectures for clinical datasets, and integrates optimized models into high-performance C++ production environments. It also supports system integration and testing and produces formal design documentation and patent applications.
