About The Position

A multi-state commercial auto insurance carrier is seeking a Senior Loss Control Representative to work within the Loss Control department. This position is primarily responsible for overseeing the consultant phone survey program and completing monthly Accident Trend Analysis reports for insured customers. When not backing up the primary position, phone surveys within the consultant phone survey program are to be completed. This position requires limited travel for department meetings and training, which is scheduled in advance. The role involves understanding and responding to safety and compliance needs, collaborating with other staff, and establishing working relationships with underwriters and the claims group. The representative will participate in meetings and seminars, manage all communication timely and appropriately, and complete phone surveys for small limo and Long haul truck accounts, writing accurate reports.

Requirements

  • Proficient in all standard Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in the use of virtual meeting software.
  • Comfortable learning and utilizing custom web reporting software as well as navigation of company website as a resource.
  • Proficient in Federal Motor Carrier (US DOT) regulations, preferably including passenger transportation and applicability of such.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • At least five years of related experience covering a safety or loss control-related function within the commercial auto industry.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the consultant phone survey program and completion of monthly Accident Trend Analysis reports for insured customers.
  • Complete phone surveys within the consultant phone survey program.
  • Review consultant reports for accuracy, including appropriate grading, state-specific questions, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Work with consultants to improve report quality.
  • Approve completed reports and consultant invoices for processing.
  • Generate consultant reports by running reports and ensuring survey request validity.
  • Assign surveys to consultants.
  • Answer questions and concerns pertaining to the consultant phone survey work for underwriters and the loss control department.
  • Run the Accident Trend Analysis (AA) web report monthly.
  • Assist assigned Regional Manager with analysis and data gathering for AA reports.
  • Maintain appropriate distribution lists for the AA reports.
  • Review, edit, and finalize all AA reports for processing and forward according to the saved distribution list.
  • Maintain a current file of upcoming accident analysis reports due semiannually, quarterly, monthly, and on special requests.
  • Maintain a working relationship with the Loss Control Manager and assist with other duties and projects.
  • Understand and respond to safety and compliance needs within assigned duties.
  • Collaborate with other staff to ensure safety and compliance needs are met.
  • Establish a working relationship with underwriters in all product lines and the claims group to facilitate and complete work assignments.
  • Submit reports and findings to the requesting underwriter and total quality administrator via designated email address.
  • Participate in meetings/seminars with the department online and at Lancer or industry meetings and conventions, as necessary.
  • Complete phone surveys for small limo and Long haul truck accounts.
  • Write reports that are accurate, including punctuation and grammar, appropriate grading, and state-specific questions.
  • Manage all email, web, and cell phone communication timely and appropriately.
