About The Position

The Senior Logistics Project Manager directly supports Nordex's mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world. In this role, you will lead the strategic planning, execution, and oversight of complex logistics operations supporting wind turbine projects throughout North America. You will serve as the primary logistics expert for large-scale projects, ensuring the safe, cost-effective, and timely transportation of wind turbine components from origin to final installation site. Working collaboratively with Project Management, Construction, Supply Chain, Engineering, HSE, and external logistics partners, you will drive successful project delivery while supporting continuous improvement initiatives, standardization, and operational excellence across the logistics organization.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field required.
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, project cargo, supply chain, or wind industry operations.
Minimum 3 years of direct project logistics management experience.
Experience managing oversized and heavy-haul transportation projects.
Advanced project and program management capabilities.
Strong leadership, mentoring, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
Expert knowledge of project cargo logistics and heavy-haul transportation.
Strong financial acumen, cost analysis, contract management, and budgeting experience.
Knowledge of import/export regulations and transportation compliance requirements.
Experience working with logistics cost models and transportation analysis.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Fluency in English and French is required.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.
Valid driver's license and passport required, with the ability to obtain work authorization and visas for both the United States and Canada.
Ability to meet site access and safety requirements, including applicable physical demands of the position.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of and commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Proactively identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
Properly use applicable safety equipment, including but not limited to eye protection, hearing protection, steel-toe boots, and hard hats. Loose-fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted.
Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure a safe working environment.
Speak and understand English fluently to effectively communicate safety and job-related information, follow safety instructions, and collaborate with English-speaking supervisors and team members.

Nice To Haves

PMP Certification, APICS Certification, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
Experience supporting wind energy, infrastructure, EPC, or industrial construction projects preferred.
Experience managing contractors, logistics service providers, and project budgets exceeding $10 million strongly preferred.
SAP experience preferred.
Spanish and German are considered assets.

Responsibilities

Lead logistics planning and execution for complex, high-value wind energy projects across North America.
Manage the complete logistics lifecycle including transportation planning, route studies, permitting, customs compliance, port operations, and contractor management.
Own logistics budgets, forecasting, financial performance, and cost control for assigned projects.
Serve as the logistics subject matter expert throughout project development, execution, and closeout.
Lead transportation planning, route assessments, route improvement initiatives, and risk mitigation strategies.
Manage strategic relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, port operators, and heavy-haul transportation contractors.
Oversee logistics supplier contracts and service agreements to ensure successful project execution.
Ensure compliance with all transportation, import/export, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Support vessel discharge operations, port activities, storage operations, and trucking logistics.
Develop contingency plans and resolve logistics disruptions to maintain project schedules.
Mentor Logistics Project Managers and Logistics Coordinators while supporting logistics governance and best practices.
Analyze logistics performance, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead meetings, prepare reports, and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
Support annual budgeting, long-range capacity planning, and business case development for logistics investments.
Utilize logistics software and project management tools to track KPIs and operational performance.
