Sr Lead Software Engineer - Common Components

JPMorganChaseJersey City, NJ

About The Position

This role executes creative technical solutions and troubleshoots complex problems across a reusable-components portfolio, thinking beyond routine or conventional approaches. The engineer will develop secure, high-quality production code and review/debug code written by others. They will identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues, improving operational stability and mean-time-to-repair for adopting teams across the enterprise. This role also involves building components to be drop-in and agent-native (for example, via the Model Context Protocol and CLIs) with automated upgrades, so adopters stay current with minimal effort. Additionally, the engineer will lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to probe architectural designs and applicability for use within existing systems, and lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and adoption of leading-edge technologies and shared frameworks.

  • Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle and advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, or machine learning.
  • Practical cloud-native experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building SDKs, frameworks, or developer platforms that other engineering teams consume.
  • Experience with agent-native tooling (for example, the Model Context Protocol or LLM tooling) and AI-assisted development workflows.
