About The Position

This role is responsible for completing Civil/Structural Design tasks with minimal supervision, making independent decisions on procedures. The designer will model and design foundations, concrete, and steel structures, coordinating with other disciplines to develop design deliverables. They must be familiar with industry terminology and practices, accurately preparing designs and drawings. The position involves reviewing vendor drawings, codes, standards, and field data to create fabrication-ready drawings, and revising them as needed. Responsibilities also include performing calculations, material quantity take-offs, and potentially coordinating the work of drafters, providing technical guidance. Travel to project sites for walk-downs and construction support is required.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • (5+) years’ experience in downstream, onshore EPC environment
  • Previous position with lead responsibility
  • Experience must include Civil Design in site/land development, earthwork, rails, storm drainage, sewer, etc.
  • Experience must include Concrete and Steel Modelling and Design
  • Experience utilizing Advanced Steel is required
  • Experience utilizing AutoCAD, as well as 3D Design Tools and MS Office Suite
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to (25) lbs.
  • Must be physically able to review project materials, equipment and engage with field personnel

Nice To Haves

  • Experience engaging with international office teams and workshare is preferred
  • Experience with design of international projects and international code requirements is preferred
  • Experience utilizing AutoCAD Civil3D is desired

Responsibilities

  • Completing Civil/Structural Design as assigned
  • Modelling and Design of Foundations, and Concrete and Steel Structures
  • Making independent decisions on procedures used
  • Coordinating with other Disciplines to develop Design Deliverables
  • Using industry terminology and practices accurately in the preparation of Designs and Drawings
  • Reviewing vendor drawings, standard details, codes and standards, field data and information provided by project personnel for developing drawings
  • Revising drawings as needed to correct details and reflect actual versus planned project feature locations and dimensions
  • Coordinating and planning work of drafters to complete a project assignment
  • Providing technical guidance to drafters within a specific discipline or functional area
  • Performing calculations, including material quantity take-offs, for design, layout, and detailing of project features
  • Traveling to Project Sites for Walk Downs during Design Phase and Construction Support during Construction Phase
