Pembina Pipeline Corporation is seeking a Senior Advisor, Land Negotiator to join our External Affairs Service Unit, reporting to the Supervisor, Transmission and Extraction Land Team. This role plays a key part in supporting Pembina’s vision and strategy by maintaining and strengthening stakeholder relationships, managing right-of-way and real estate interests, and ensuring compliance with regulatory permits. The position is responsible for conducting right-of-way risk assessments, implementing mitigation strategies, resolving damage claims, and supporting the acquisition of new land rights and permits. In addition, this role contributes to process development and continuous improvement initiatives across the team. The ideal candidate will be located in North Dakota or Minnesota to support our U.S. North operations and must be willing to travel within these regions, and occasionally beyond, to engage with stakeholders and collaborate with Pembina’s field operations teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited post-secondary institution;
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in right-of-way, land, real estate, or a related field;
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with external stakeholders, landowners, and the public;
  • Experience coordinating and overseeing third-party contractors or right-of-way firms;
  • Strong understanding of right-of-way, real estate principles, and applicable laws and regulations;
  • Working knowledge of U.S. regulatory frameworks, including FERC, PHMSA, and applicable state-level requirements, as it relates to land access, pipeline construction and maintenance, and stakeholder engagement;
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage across various channels, including in-person, phone, and written correspondence;
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality, accurate results;
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with sound business judgment;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment;
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of aligning work with broader business objectives.
  • The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire and secure easements, licenses, leases, permits, and regulatory approvals to support the construction, operation, and maintenance of company facilities;
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage land activities for maintenance programs and regional projects;
  • Respond to internal and external stakeholder inquiries related to right-of-way agreements and land matters;
  • Coordinate and manage third-party service providers (e.g., appraisers, abstractors, and right-of-way firms) to support title research, valuations, and land acquisition activities;
  • Maintain accurate land, real estate, and right-of-way records within corporate databases and mapping systems, including performance metrics and reporting;
  • Attend open houses, industry events, and community engagement activities to represent Pembina and support Damage Prevention and Emergency Response awareness programs;
  • Support the development and execution of corporate projects and initiatives while effectively managing day-to-day responsibilities;
  • Partner closely with Operations to provide timely support, including addressing issues that may fall outside typical scope as required;
