About The Position

The role involves performing a variety of chemistry work instructions and adhering to quality system procedures within an ISO 17025-accredited food laboratory. The selected candidate must be capable of learning and executing advanced-level procedures and operating complex laboratory equipment. Key responsibilities include: Working independently to identify and resolve problems. Maintaining ISO-compliant records for process control. Complying with all quality system and safety requirements. Performing routine maintenance and calibration of advanced instrumentation. Assessing situations quickly and responding appropriately. Communicating proactively with peers, supervisors, and customers. Contributing to continuous improvement projects that enhance laboratory performance. Demonstrating strong multitasking and organizational skills. Assisting in training less experienced team members. Additional duties may include cleaning, inventory management, and organizing shared workspaces. Precision and accuracy in executing work instructions and collecting data are essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with at least 2 years of laboratory experience; or More than 4 years of technical training in a laboratory-related role, including at least 1 year of chromatography experience.
  • Strong reading and comprehension skills to support self-guided learning and interpretation of scientific materials and instructions.
  • Minimum of 2 years of laboratory-related experience.
  • Proven experience in chromatography, including the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair advanced analytical equipment.
  • Experience conducting peer reviews of chromatography data.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong computer skills are essential, as the laboratory operates in a fully digital, paperless environment.
  • Experience with LabWare LIMS is required.
  • Ability to safely lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Regular activities include standing, walking, sitting, handling tools or objects, reaching, balancing, and stooping.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, hear alarms and instrument signals, and visually inspect results.
  • Use of latex, nitrile, or equivalent gloves is required when handling chemicals to prevent exposure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
