About The Position

As an experienced Sr. Java Developer at Sammons Financial Group within our Corporate Markets business unit, you’ll join a team of experienced developers with the unique opportunity to play a key role in transforming a mission-critical insurance administration platform that has supported our business for more than 40 years. You'll help guide the migration from COBOL and VSAM-based mainframe technology to a modern Java-based architecture. This is a hands-on development role where you'll contribute to solution design, architecture discussions, and software implementation while helping mentor other members of the team. This team supports all aspects of Bank-Owned Life Insurance (BOLI), Credit Union-Owned Life Insurance (CUOLI), and Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) within our Corporate Markets business unit. We strive to provide solutions that will position Corporate Markets for the future and maintain the great customer service our customers are used to and expect. Our modernization effort will allow us to meet the changing demands of our customers as we continue to grow in the future.

  • Knowledge of computer programming languages as required for the system

  • Minimum 8 years' IT development experience or equivalent
