Sr. Java Developer
About The Position
ARC Group has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Java Developer with a leading organization. This is a hybrid position in Jacksonville, FL working 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. The role is initially a long-term contract opportunity through January 2027, with the potential for extension and/or conversion to a full-time position. Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong experience with Java/J2EE development
- Experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful and SOAP web services
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
- Experience with SQL development and data manipulation
- Experience using Git or other modern version control systems
- Experience with unit testing, debugging, and software development best practices
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities
Nice To Haves
- Experience with modern Java frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, or Hibernate
- Experience with front-end technologies including JavaScript, React.js, or Node.js
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience with messaging and distributed systems technologies such as Kafka
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable enterprise Java applications
- Create technical solutions aligned with business requirements and organizational objectives
- Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and application integrations
- Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture initiatives
- Perform unit testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and application enhancements
- Follow secure coding practices and ensure application reliability, performance, and data integrity
- Document technical designs, system specifications, and development processes
- Participate in release management and change control processes
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, project teams, and business stakeholders
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to other developers
