About The Position

National Indemnity Company is seeking a Senior Finance Business Analyst to serve as a critical liaison between Finance and Technology teams, helping drive key financial reporting, close, reconciliation, and control-focused initiatives. In this highly visible role, you'll work directly with Finance leaders, accounting professionals, and technology teams to translate complex financial reporting requirements into scalable, reliable, and auditable technology solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of related professional experience
  • Experience with data analysis and business systems
  • Proficiency with SQL, Microsoft Office, and data manipulation tools
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies and procedures
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting Finance or Accounting organizations
  • Direct experience working within an insurance carrier environment (P&C, Life, Health, or Specialty insurance)
  • Experience supporting: Statutory (STAT) and/or GAAP reporting, Financial close and reconciliation processes, Intercompany accounting, Reinsurance accounting operations
  • Proven ability to translate accounting and financial reporting requirements into technical solutions and IT deliverables
  • Experience partnering with Controllers, Financial Reporting teams, Accounting Policy groups, Auditors, and other Finance leaders

Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business requirements related to: Financial close and reconciliation processes, Statutory and GAAP financial reporting, Intercompany, reinsurance, and allocation workflows, Finance controls, audit support, and data lineage
  • Translate accounting and finance requirements into: User stories with clear acceptance criteria, Functional specifications for reports, interfaces, and data solutions, Test cases and user acceptance testing (UAT) scenarios supporting control validation and business outcomes
  • Partner with Finance and Accounting teams to: Evaluate upstream and downstream system impacts, Identify data quality issues, process gaps, and control risks, Support production investigations related to financial results and reporting
  • Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and data professionals to ensure solutions meet standards for: Financial accuracy, Data completeness, Regulatory compliance, Auditability and controls
