About The Position

At Textron Systems, the Senior IT Apps Analyst in the Engineering Business Systems department will be responsible for: • Analyzing business requirements. • Providing IT advice and services to business clients. • Developing short- and long-term solutions. • Creating and running test scripts to verify and validate system functionality. • Deploying minor and enterprise-grade solutions for business-critical applications and systems. • Maintaining and upgrading deployed systems. • Following and continuously improving standard processes. • Performing other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, Information Technology, or related field.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in system administration, preferably on Linux-based systems.
  • Ability to work independently on novel and challenging technical tasks and produce quality outputs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective writing, presentation, and oral communication skills.
  • Comfortable with and capable of creating internal and user-facing documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a compliance-driven industry.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining applications hosted on both Windows and Linux, with an emphasis on RHEL distributions.
  • Knowledge of computer networks and network concepts (network stack; common protocols, i.e., TCP, HTTP, SSH, FTP, etc.).
  • Understanding database design concepts and RDBMS fundamentals.
  • Experience with scripting languages on multiple platforms, particularly PowerShell, Bash, Java, and Python.
  • Knowledge of web-based application concepts and design.
  • Experience with system development life-cycle best practices.
  • Familiarity with Project Management concepts.
  • Familiarity with administering or using systems or platforms such as Jira, FlexNET, ServiceNow, vSphere, and Jenkins.
