About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr IT Analyst (VDI) to support and enhance our Virtual Desktop Infrastructure across a global enterprise. This role requires deep expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), solid experience with VMware Horizon, and strong automation capabilities using PowerShell and Python, with version control and collaboration via GitHub. You will report directly to our Sr. IT Manager and you'll work out of our Phoenix, AZ, or Charlotte, NC, or Atlanta, GA or Houston, TX location on a Hybrid work schedule. Hybrid Work Schedule Note: For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite M-F. In this role, you will impact the overall performance and reliability of our IT systems, enabling seamless operations across various departments and contributing to the success of our corporate initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in VDI operations or end-user computing.
  • Advanced knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) architecture and operations.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware Horizon administration.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell and Python scripting.
  • Experience with GitHub for source control and automation workflows.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policies, FSLogix, and conditional access.
  • Understanding of cloud security and compliance best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure Administrator, VMware VCP) are highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a distributed team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable AVD environments in Azure.
  • Implement and maintain user access controls, security policies, and profile management using FSLogix.
  • Monitor and optimize performance, cost, and reliability of AVD workloads.
  • Administer and support VMware Horizon infrastructure including connection servers, Unified Access Gateways (UAGs), and desktop pools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve VDI-related issues across Windows virtual desktops.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure compliance and resilience.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and Python for provisioning, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Utilize GitHub for version control, code reviews, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
  • Build dashboards and alerts for VDI health and performance using tools like Azure Monitor or third-party solutions.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for VDI-related incidents and service requests.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and incident response as needed.
