About The Position

This job guides the operational, clinical, and technical direction of Epic applications and solutions across all specialties and ensures alignment with the business strategy. Designs, develops, and implements solutions to business problems; evaluates end user needs, system goals, and existing applications to define system requirements and technical standards; and develops and maintains documentation associated with all integration and change activities. Relies on domain knowledge and professional discretion while serving as an advocate to stakeholders. Performs integral consultative functions for IS initiatives ranging from tactical to strategic. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of Epic experience.
  • Epic certification.
  • Effective verbal, written, and diagrammatic skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.
  • Technical integration skills and comprehensive understanding of application implementation challenges from initial conceptualization through development, testing, implementation, and operational support.
  • Strong technical knowledge of multiple Epic and non-Epic applications, clinical data integration, Epic Reporting Workbench and interoperability standards and ability to design and implement technical solutions and processes.
  • Operational or clinical expertise and ability to understand and interpret technological impact to clinical operations across risk management, change management, configuration management, business continuity, safety and analytics.
  • Project management skills and ability to plan, define scope, goals, deliverables and lead projects while collaborating with stakeholders and leadership to secure support.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and adjust schedule as needed while remaining accountable for results.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to accurately analyze information, make sound decisions and provide build recommendations with the understanding of downstream effects for the Epic EMR and other ancillary systems.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and researching skills and ability to perform Gap analysis.
  • Ability to travel throughout and between facilities and work flexible hours (weekends/holidays/nights/call).

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Additional Epic certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in evaluation of operational needs and validates workflows, builds, and configuration based on application requirements.
  • Designs, develops, documents, and implements success measurements for core and cross application projects in accordance with IS system goals.
  • Provides expertise in all facets of core and related applications, including prototyping and proof of concept.
  • Cultivates and designs innovative solutions in accordance with emerging technologies and best practices.
  • Researches and analyzes business needs for project implications.
  • Supports all projects in accordance with service level agreements and ensures that completed projects are transitioned to and supported by appropriate teams.
  • Serves as liaison between end users, third parties, and application staff.
  • Works with business owners, SMEs, and technical experts to evaluate interoperability solutions and assist in decision recommendations.
  • Functions as a technical support to peer and teams.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
