If you are interested in being a part of this, consider applying for the following opportunity: Who we are looking for:Wireline Enterprise and Voice (WEV), a division of Rogers Wireline Network, performs end to end engineering, operation, and management of the RealTime Communications network and platforms. Our team is actively expanding, and we are in search of highly motivated individuals with a strong interest in the evolution of network technology with an emphasis on automation & DevNetOps. The Rogers Unified Communications offering is rapidly growing with a comprehensive suite of next generation IP Voice Services to offer to the Canadian Consumer, SMB and Enterprise market segments. We are looking for a Senior IP Network Engineer to join the Wireline Enterprise and Voice Team.

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years of experience in Enterprise/Carrier networking environments
  • Ability to perform self-sustaining work with minimum supervision
  • Agility and responsiveness when faced with unforeseen issues
  • Strong and confident communication skills with both customers, peers, and managers
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • A strong understanding of IP networking, with experience in deployment and operation of the following technologies:
  • Juniper and Cisco routers and switches
  • Experience with deploying and administering virtual network appliances
  • IP routing protocols, MP-BGP, Traffic Engineering, Virtual Route Reflectors and MPLS ,VLAN, L2VPN, L3VPN and EVPN, Palo Alto, iptables, pf and other commercial firewall platforms, Application firewalling, security appliances
  • Administration of network monitoring systems
  • Virtual computing knowledge, ability to design networks involving VMware and MPLS
  • Familiar with network service provider work environment and requirements

Nice To Haves

  • CCNP, JNCIP-SP or equivalent certification is strongly desired
  • Session Initiation Protocol
  • Voice Over IP /IMS 3GPP/5G
  • Linux systems
  • System automation, script programming
  • Monitoring & Visualization systems (Zabbix, Grafana, splunk, etc)
  • Blade server & Storage infrastructure

Responsibilities

  • Engineering design of physical and logical network deployment scenarios to satisfy the growing needs of the wireline voice applications & customers
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity problems and provide timely resolution
  • Work with internal and external stake-holders in support of other functional teams on network-related assignments
  • Maintain inventory, network diagrams and configuration records, provide network address assignments
  • Plan and execute device software/hardware upgrades
  • Plan, Design, & implement DevNetOps aligned strategies for automation and monitoring network capacity & health
  • Design & Review network health & performance metrics, alarms, and dashboards
  • Perform routine maintenance and network changes
  • Manage deployment of new network projects
  • Assess network upgrade requirements, capacity management and security enhancements
