About The Position

Quizlet is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to join the UX Foundations team. This role involves owning core iOS app layers, including shared libraries, SDKs, security, CI/CD, and the release process, as well as shipping user-facing features. The engineer will collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality mobile experiences, influence technical direction, contribute to architecture, and mentor junior engineers. The position is open to remote candidates in the US, with hybrid options in San Francisco and New York offices requiring 2 days per week in the office (Wednesday and Thursday).

Requirements

  • Multiple years of experience in mobile software development
  • Strong problem solving and debugging skills on mobile software products
  • Proficiency in either iOS or Android development and some level of comfort with the other
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and take on new challenges
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across a range of audiences

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with native Android, native iOS, and cross platform mobile development approaches. Including evaluating tradeoffs
  • Track record of influencing adjacent engineering teams of best practices or mobile client needs

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain the core iOS app layers - shared libraries, SDKs, and frameworks - that feature teams build on
  • Own and ship user-facing features end-to-end — from design through release — alongside your foundation work
  • Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines and the release process for the iOS app
  • Collaborate closely with product and other cross-functional partners to define requirements and deliver solutions
  • Understand and operate in our existing systems and proactively suggest improvements and new ideas based on industry best practices
  • Drive incident investigations, post mortems, and retrospectives and effectively advocate for long-term improvements to systems and processes
  • Influence within your team for the right engineering improvements to increase quality of our software, testing, and processes
