About The Position

This position is responsible for evaluating and executing an inventory plan in a vendor-managed inventory environment for an assigned group of truck dealers. Salary will be dependent upon experience with inventory, leadership, and project management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or analytical field required
  • 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Advanced MS Office skills, specifically MS Excel.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Show exceptional initiative in understanding customer business problems and developing inventory and forecasting parameters to solve those problems.
  • Ability to work well in ambiguity, attention to detail, and passion for learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and issue resolution skills.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA preferred.
  • Query, database management, and SQL experience helpful.
  • Inventory control, forecasting or product distribution experience helpful.
  • Warehouse Planning / Purchasing experience desired.
  • Experience with Six Sigma is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and optimize an inventory plan for assigned desk of truck dealers and all their stocking parts through the following: analyze and adjust forecast and replenishment parameters proactively to meet retail availability and inventory health goals; work on each individual dealer's parameters while building and maintaining a high degree of trust and credibility; generate analyses to leverage dealer buying and experience; advocate for promotions and discount programs through analysis and reporting.
  • Respond to dealer requests to adjust parameters and research system issues, develop recommendations based on analysis and create promotion and buy-up order suggestions.
  • Coordinate activities with marketing, sales, administration, customers and suppliers as necessary to build exceptional customer relations and meet department goals.
  • Maintain the integrity of each dealer interaction to support and leverage trust through ongoing communication.
  • Actively train dealers on MDI best practices, metrics and tier levels; onboard new parts managers and work to understand each dealer's business needs and goals.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating system data and helping dealers achieve optimal stocking parameters.
  • Review dealer exception requests.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of department processes and goals by contributing to mini-games, department projects and Six Sigma projects.
  • Forecast demand through analysis and reporting in JDA.
  • Continuously develop skillset and training with tools in JDA, Excel, Access, Tableau, and Snowflake.
