About The Position

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This team supports all AWS data centers and the associated servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. The role involves working on challenging problems within the supply chain and collaborating with a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. The goal is to deliver high standards of safety and security while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost for customers. The position is located in Seattle, WA. Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides a highly reliable, scalable, and low-cost cloud platform. The AWS Infrastructure Service (AIS) organization focuses on delivering scalable solutions for data center supply chains. The AIS Power & Cooling team is seeking a results-oriented individual to manage the supply chain for Data Center Power & Cooling Equipment. Procurement Managers in this role are experts who ensure the supply needed for AWS's growth. As a member of the Power and Cooling Procurement Team, you will manage the end-to-end global supply chain for categories within Power and Cooling Equipment, supporting AWS Data Center build projects. The primary responsibility is to maintain unconstrained supply globally for these categories, understand demand signals from internal customers and business partners, and implement appropriate supply strategies to ensure continuity. This must be achieved while maintaining a low cost structure and adapting to volatile demand.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of related industry experience
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field, or 6+ years of related supply chain experience
  • 4+ years experience in electrical, mechanical, infrastructure or data center construction industries
  • 6+ years experience in supplier performance management in sourcing and/or supply chain with direct ownership of executive-level negotiation

Nice To Haves

  • Direct procurement experience in electrical distribution or power generation equipment
  • 3+ years in commercial contract negotiation
  • Direct cross-functional working experience with engineering, construction, operation

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage supply chain and sourcing strategies on a global scale for critical tier-2+ sub-components for complex electrical and mechanical solutions that deliver power to data centers.
  • De-risk supply chain constraints through sustainable long-term strategies for critical tier-2+ sub-components.
  • Drive strategic commercial negotiations with suppliers to ascertain capacity with the lowest cost structure.
  • Develop and maintain supplier capacity modeling for both equipment and on-site commissioning support resourcing.
  • Understand demand inputs and position supply to support unconstrained growth at AWS scale in both short-term and long-term horizons.
  • Engage with global supply chain counterparts to drive leading supply chain practices and initiatives.
  • Partner with engineering teams to drive successful new product deployments at scale.
  • Drive innovation through the supply chain and influence industry practices.
  • Develop analytical reports to deliver information to business partners and stakeholders that support improved decision making.
  • Manage supplier lead times and drive them to meet AWS business requirements.
  • Manage supplier performance and allocation of material to demands based on priority.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the customers, technologies, and markets engaged.
  • Manage cross-functional projects against plans and objectives to meet commitments and goals.
  • Identify and drive realization of opportunities for sustainable, scalable, relative advantage in your category.
  • Requires travel up to 15% of the year.
