Responsibilities & Expectations: IPS is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Inside Sales Representative to support Distribution and Break Sales operations. In this role, you will serve as a key partner to the customers and Field Service teams, ensuring responsive customer support, accurate order execution, and strong supplier coordination. This position requires a high level of technical understanding, problem-solving ability, and ownership over the full sales support process.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of experience in inside sales, distribution, industrial sales support or technical customer service required
  • Experience supporting field service or time sensitive parts environment strongly preferred
  • Background in rotating equipment, industrial components or electrical systems preferred

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage all Distribution and Break Sales inquiries from intake through order fulfillment
  • Provide timely and cost-effective customer service in support of IPS outside sales, field service teams, and OEM partners
  • Process complex customer inquiries, including part identification, application support, and solution recommendations
  • Prepare and deliver detailed quotations for motors, components, and related products
  • Enter and manage customer orders, ensuring accuracy in pricing, lead times, and specifications
  • Coordinate procurement and selection of motors and components from suppliers
  • Support urgent and break-fix situations by prioritizing critical orders for field service and customers
  • Serve as a technical resource for customers and field service personnel, resolving inquiries with support from engineering and OEM partners as needed
  • Assist field service teams with parts identification, availability checks, and expedited sourcing
  • Support customer issue resolution, including shipment discrepancies, returns, and warranty-related concerns
  • Provide order tracking, shipment updates, and status communication to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external suppliers and distributors
  • Negotiate lead times and availability to meet customer and service demands
  • Assist with inventory management and stocking strategies to support both distribution and service needs
  • Monitor supplier performance and support resolution of supply or quality issues
  • Maintain detailed documentation and notes within order files and ERP systems
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with IPS operating policies and procedures
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement tools and processes to improve efficiency and service delivery
  • Support processing of orders, credits, and related sales documentation
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve customer response times
