About The Position

This role is for an innovative leader to design the next generation of world-class fulfillment centers and logistics systems globally. The position offers a high level of ownership in solving complex problems, including designing systems that leverage groundbreaking automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and robotics. The successful candidate will join a team of high-impact engineers, collaborating with internal and external teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions for fulfillment and distribution systems. Projects will be owned from concept realization through design approval, serving as the primary technical contact for suppliers. After design approval, the project will be handed off to the Ops Engineering team for installation and commissioning, with ongoing support provided to ensure successful launch. Projects may include green-fields, brown-fields, and retrofits, encompassing highly automated fulfillment centers, cross-dock facilities, and transportation centers, with a mix of template-based and custom designs. The team operates in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment, working on hundreds of projects annually, offering challenges, learning opportunities, and high-impact, high-visibility projects for professional growth.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of design & innovation, research & development work experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a foreign equivalent
  • Experience in management of engineering design projects
  • Experience using business or technical software like MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of specialty (with progressive responsibility) experience
  • Knowledge of concepts like system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, electronic system design, and decision making
  • Master's degree in Engineering (any domain), Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing
  • Experience with design-in-safety

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to design high quality, cost effective solutions for fulfillment and distribution systems
  • Own multiple projects simultaneously, from concept realization through design approval
  • Serve as the suppliers’ primary point of technical contact for your projects
  • Hand-off the project to the Ops Engineering team once the design is completed and approved
  • Support the Ops Engineering team to ensure that the system designed is successfully installed, commissioned and launched
