This role involves collaborating with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to craft and execute strategies for a robust and efficient supply chain. The position partners with internal stakeholders and Global Procurement to develop and implement category strategies and related projects, including cost reduction, supply base optimization, and complex contract negotiation. The role requires communicating at executive levels with accurate supporting data, market insights, and business cases. The Sr. Indirect Category Supplier Manager will source solutions and lead procurement strategies for capital and operational equipment, and various complex service offerings. The position operates within established governance and sourcing processes and policies to conduct and execute RFx activities and apply demand management. The role involves building and owning category strategies to drive savings, value, assurance of supply, quality, and supplier performance within assigned categories. It also includes conducting detailed should-cost and benchmark analysis, leading negotiations for favorable supplier terms, and partnering with the Legal team to negotiate and execute complete contracts. The role drives alignment with team members and cross-functional partners, develops, leads, and executes negotiation strategies, and manages Micron’s relationship with key/strategic suppliers. This includes holding suppliers accountable, managing and resolving commercial and operational issues, and improving supplier performance. The position requires 15% domestic travel.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Business Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Economics, Industrial and Systems Engineering or related field, and 6 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and recommending cost savings proposals through should cost analysis, alternative sourcing, and market analysis
  • Contract redlining or reviewing including Service Agreements, Construction Agreements, and Statements of Work
  • Artificial intelligence process management
  • Data-driven sourcing and business recommendations with quantitative analysis to guide executive decision-making
  • Strategic sourcing and procurement
  • Independent category strategy development management and execution
  • Supplier relationship and performance management
  • Project management skills, including planning and managing multiple concurrent sourcing projects and RFx initiatives
