About The Position

As a Sr HVAC Technician at JLL, you'll play a critical role in maintaining optimal building performance and creating comfortable, efficient environments for our clients. This position combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, where you'll diagnose, repair, and maintain complex heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across commercial facilities. You'll serve as a technical resource for junior technicians, sharing knowledge and helping to build a team where everyone is empowered to thrive. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in commercial HVAC maintenance and repair, diagnosing and repairing commercial HVAC equipment including chillers, boilers, air handlers, and building automation systems
  • Valid EPA Universal Certification for refrigerant handling
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, control circuits, and ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clients, contractors, and team members

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical certification in HVAC, mechanical systems, or related field
  • Journeyman or Master HVAC license
  • Experience with Trane, Carrier, York, or other major commercial HVAC equipment manufacturers
  • Proficiency with building automation systems such as Tridium, Johnson Controls, Siemens, or Honeywell
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety certification
  • Additional certifications such as NATE, RSES, or manufacturer-specific credentials
  • Experience working in corporate office buildings, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, or other large commercial environments

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, air handlers, rooftop units, cooling towers, pumps, and building automation systems
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and testing to ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency and meets all safety and regulatory standards
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues using specialized tools, technical documentation, and building management system interfaces
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning across the team
  • Respond promptly to emergency service calls and implement effective solutions that minimize downtime and maintain business continuity
  • Document all service activities, maintain accurate maintenance records, and communicate status updates to facility managers and clients
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and contractors on system upgrades, retrofits, and capital improvement projects
  • Lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions
