About The Position

The Sr. Human Resources Manager at UTLX, a part of Marmon Holdings (backed by Berkshire Hathaway), is responsible for all on-site Human Resources duties at the Cleveland, TX facility. This role involves partnering with Operational Leaders to ensure adequate facility staffing while maintaining high employee satisfaction and engagement. The incumbent will develop, guide, and execute initiatives related to culture, change management, talent assessment and development, succession planning, and performance management to foster high performance within a diverse workforce. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field OR minimum of 7 years of relevant HR experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on HR experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment
  • Strong employee relations experience, including investigations, discipline, and performance management
  • Working knowledge of labor laws and HR compliance (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc.)
  • Experience supporting frontline supervisors and hourly workforce
  • Ability to manage high-volume, day-to-day HR issues with minimal oversight
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to handle difficult conversations
  • Experience using HR systems (HRIS) for employee data, reporting, and tracking
  • Ability to use basic workforce data (turnover, attendance, etc.) to inform decisions

Responsibilities

  • Coach and advise leaders, support multiple functions/departments to create a high-performance culture through talent management, performance management, and leadership development (coach, counsel, career development, performance management, etc.)
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop strategy, addressing employee related issues
  • Monitor absenteeism
  • Monitor turnover
  • Promote positive morale
  • Organize programs to engage employees
  • Handle Labor relations matters
  • Lead/manage projects and/or participates as a project member on HR initiatives as assigned
  • Develop written and oral presentations that have high clarity and impact
  • Provide regular written reports as needed
  • Identify and apply innovative ideas to adapt to changing work demands
  • Develop and implement policies and programs for effective management of the people resources of each department, including labor & employee relations, diversity & inclusion, employee complaints, external education, and career development
  • Demonstrate and lead initiatives, promote participation, and recognize employees and leaders that live by the organization’s commitments and values
  • Build relationships with local organizations, businesses, and community leaders to support the organization’s mission
  • Participate in and support quality projects and initiatives to ensure that the company achieves its goals
  • Utilize and ensure accuracy of HRIS system to obtain various metrics to include: Turnover, Open Positions, Time to fill positions, Employee satisfaction (Survey Results)
