About The Position

Join Virginia Housing and help make a difference as a Sr. Human Resources Generalist. The Sr. Human Resources Generalist is an important role that will provide support to the Human Resources Division and works closely with the HR Leadership team. This position is a critical HR Advisor role that partners closely with Virginia Housing managers on talent management, performance management, and employee relations. The role is responsible for full life cycle recruiting, supporting designated functional areas, classification, compensation, and ensuring compliance with legal and corporate guidelines. In addition, the generalist provides support in the development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of Human Resources policies and programs. Qualified candidates must possess Bachelor's degree with an HR Management focus preferred, or equivalent experience. Several years of experience, 5+ years preferred, in a Human Resources role with demonstrated experience in full life cycle recruiting, employee relations and performance management, and HR administration. Demonstrated experience serving as a trusted advisor to business units. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply sound judgment in decision making. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Good consulting skills, ability to coach and build strong relationships across the organization. Considerable knowledge of human resources principles and practice. Proficient in MS Office Suite. SPHR and/or SHRM-SCP preferred. Requirements
