About The Position

As a Sr. HSE Engineer here at Solstice Advanced Materials, you will be responsible for overseeing and directing the organization's health, safety, and security efforts. You will ensure the highest standards of health and safety for employees, compliance with safety and health regulations and industry standards, and the implementation of best practices. You will report directly to our Sr. HSE Manager, and you'll work out of our Baton Rouge, LA location with the Baton Rouge site personnel. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders will ensure that HSE considerations are integrated into business processes and decision-making, contributing to the overall success and reputation of our business as a responsible and sustainable organization.

Requirements

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal HSE regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Stay updated on new laws, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Prepare for and support regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors.
  • Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Investigate accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents.
  • Determine root causes and track corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and report findings to management.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs (e.g., PPE, hazard communication, emergency response).
  • Promote safety culture through toolbox talks and awareness campaigns.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and certified.
  • Conduct routine site inspections and safety audits.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Track and follow up on identified deficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
  • Participate in drills (fire, evacuation, spill response).
  • Coordinate response efforts during actual emergencies.
  • Create and update HSE policies, procedures, and SOPs.
  • Ensure policies align with legal and corporate requirements.
  • Communicate expectations clearly to all employees.
  • Track HSE performance metrics (TCIR, DART, near misses).
  • Analyze trends to improve safety performance.
  • Prepare reports for leadership and regulatory bodies.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Lead or support safety committees and initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement programs (e.g., behavior-based safety).
