About The Position

This is a 1-year CPRIT funded position. The renewal of contract will be subject to funding availability at the end of the term. North Texas Clinical Pharmacology Cancer Core integrates mass spectrometry multi-omics-based approaches for disease related drug metabolism, drug discovery and biomarker studies. We are searching for a Senior Research Scientist who is highly proficient in molecular biology techniques, including molecular cell culture, induce cell differentiation to different cell disease models from human iPSC cells or progenitor cells. Support ongoing proteomics and metabolomics mass spectrometry work and set-up of new cell culture rooms, new cell culture workflows. Additional sample preparation for mass spectrometry proteomics and metabolomics such as immunoprecipitation, gel electrophoresis are preferred. Coordinate communication among all project team members ensuring compliance with project objectives, regulations and requirements. Assist with all aspects of project development, data collection and interpretation Monitor all aspects of project execution and compliance Attend regular project planning meetings Prepare research reports, conference presentations, and other dissemination activities related to center research activities Other duties as assigned by Principal Investigator Academic degree as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. 3 years of demonstrated experience as a researcher. Should have a record of activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of research. In accordance with Texas Executive Order GA-48 and applicable state or federal law, this position may involve access to, work on, or conduct research involving critical infrastructure. It will require background checks, including, but not limited to, criminal history and other security-related screenings. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of these checks.

Requirements

  • Highly proficient in molecular biology techniques, including molecular cell culture.
  • Ability to induce cell differentiation to different cell disease models from human iPSC cells or progenitor cells.
  • 3 years of demonstrated experience as a researcher.
  • Should have a record of activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of research.
  • Background checks, including criminal history and other security-related screenings.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional sample preparation for mass spectrometry proteomics and metabolomics such as immunoprecipitation, gel electrophoresis are preferred.
