About The Position

Under the guidance of the HR Director, the Sr. HR Business Partner serves as a strategic partner to assigned business units, with a primary focus on supporting Operations. This role carries out responsibilities across the following functional areas: employee relations, training and development, organizational development, and employment. The Sr. HRBP serves as a trusted advisor to operations leaders and front-line managers, providing guidance on HR policies, employee relations matters, workforce planning, and compliance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate agility, adaptability, and the ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role is highly collaborative and requires strong judgment, a solutions-oriented mindset, and the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization. This position is based in Deer Park, TX or can be remote; candidates must reside within reasonable proximity of a major commercial airport to support travel requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 4+ years of HR experience, including demonstrated experience in an HRBP or similar strategic HR role.
  • Must possess in-depth knowledge of federal and state laws across multiple states.
  • Must have prior experience supporting an Operations client group.
  • Must demonstrate agility, adaptability, and the ability to effectively navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Must possess technical writing skills.
  • Must be capable of working independently and collectively with the HR team.
  • Must possess strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft 365.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Experience with utilizing and navigating ADP or another HRIS (Human Resources Information System)
  • Some knowledge of California law.
  • Prior employee relations experience is strongly preferred, including conducting investigations, managing disciplinary processes, and advising managers on complex employee matters.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with management to communicate HR policies, procedures, programs, laws, and best practices.
  • Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with HR policies and governmental laws and regulations.
  • Ensures compliance with all HR policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Handles employee relations counseling, disciplinary actions, separations, and exit interviews.
  • Maintains employee-related databases; prepares and analyzes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and company; and prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested.
  • Assists with the development of Human Resources policies; provides advice, assistance, and follow-up on policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions.
  • Leads and participates in HR-related projects as needed.
