About The Position

The Health Information Management Technician is responsible for providing oversight of transcription, patient data entry and processing of medical records. This position is responsible for coordinating daily operations and functions and for assisting the Director with directing staff activities. Community is a non-profit health system that is deeply committed to the communities we serve with more than 200 sites of care and affiliates throughout Central Indiana.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years medical record keeping, medical coding and filing experience
• Experience with transcription equipment, typewriter and word processor (60 wpm typing skills)
• High school degree and basic college courses to include medical terminology, basic human anatomy and physiology required.
• Typing (60 wpm)
• Reading Comprehension

Nice To Haves

• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience preferred
