Our team focuses on packaging, labeling, and distribution operations, working hands-on with advanced, high-volume equipment to ensure products are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory standards. We collaborate closely across Quality Engineering, Regulatory, R&D, Equipment Engineering, and Operations to design, optimize, and sustain robust processes. We drive improvements in throughput and quality while supporting new product and material introductions, ensuring reliable, scalable operations that directly impact business performance and patient outcomes. Where you come in: In this role, you will serve as a technical leader for automation and manufacturing equipment systems within packaging and labeling operations. You will be responsible for maximizing equipment performance, reliability, and lifecycle through maintenance excellence, controls optimization, continuous improvement, and project execution. Leveraging your expertise in PLCs, machine vision systems, automation, and data analytics, you will help ensure safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing operations. You will lead the technical support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of automated packaging, labeling, and distribution equipment. You will own equipment reliability initiatives by identifying chronic failures, performing root cause investigations, and implementing sustainable corrective actions. You will develop and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to improve equipment uptime, asset utilization, and operational performance. You will troubleshoot and support PLC, HMI, motion control, and industrial network systems to resolve production issues and minimize downtime. You will maintain and optimize machine vision systems, including inspection performance, false reject reduction, and system robustness. You will lead equipment upgrade, obsolescence management, and lifecycle improvement projects to ensure long-term operational sustainability. You will partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams to improve throughput, quality, and equipment effectiveness using data-driven decision making. You will leverage equipment, maintenance, and production data to identify optimization opportunities, improve asset performance, and drive measurable gains in throughput, quality, and operational efficiency. You will support equipment qualifications, software validations, and engineering change activities within a regulated medical device environment.

Requirements

  • Experience working with manufacturing processes, preferably in packaging, labeling, or high-volume production environments
  • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to build, interpret, and present KPI dashboards to drive decision-making
  • Proven ability to manage self-directed projects—prioritizing work, meeting deadlines, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment
  • Hands-on mindset with demonstrated success working directly with equipment, processes, or manufacturing operations
  • Experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., DMAIC, root cause analysis) to drive measurable improvements
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and adapt to changing business needs while maintaining commitments
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across engineering, quality, regulatory, and operations teams
  • Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., medical device, pharma, or similar quality systems)
  • Technical expertise in PLC-based automation and machine vision systems, including, troubleshooting, optimization, and lifecycle support of Allen-Bradley/Rockwell controls and Cognex or equivalent vision platforms in a manufacturing environment.
