Sr. Group Manager, Delivery

S&P GlobalNew York, NY
$177,000 - $350,000

About The Position

We are seeking a senior technology delivery leader to own the execution, reliability, and commercial performance of a complex, highly integrated, and regulated financial-services technology estate. This is a hands-on delivery and execution role, accountable for ensuring mission-critical systems are built, integrated, operated, and evolved safely, while improving efficiency, predictability, and cost discipline over time. The role exists to close the gap between strategy and execution and to ensure complex change works in production. You will lead delivery across multiple segments, platforms, and vendor ecosystems, taking direct accountability for complex integrations, third-party dependencies, and end-to-end outcomes. You will stay close to the most critical initiatives and technical decisions, knowing what to engage in personally and what to delegate, rather than operating through layers. You will step in during major incidents, recovery efforts, and high-risk delivery moments, driving resolution and systemic improvement. You will also shape and reinforce ways of working, including modern SDLC, DevOps, quality engineering, and AI-assisted / agentic SDLC practices where they improve speed and reliability. You will partner closely with Architecture, Data, Product, Operations, and Commercial leadership to ensure delivery aligns with business priorities, regulatory expectations, client commitments, and financial outcomes.

Requirements

  • Deep experience delivering and operating mission-critical, highly integrated systems in banking, capital markets, or similarly regulated, high-availability environments.
  • Strong understanding of complex system integration, including legacy platforms, shared services, data pipelines, external providers, and vendor-built components.
  • Broad technical fluency across distributed systems, data platforms, cloud infrastructure, security, and operations, with the ability to challenge designs and delivery plans credibly.
  • Strong domain understanding of financial-services workflows, data controls, regulatory obligations, and operational risk, and how these shape delivery and run of the systems.
  • Proven experience managing large vendor ecosystems, including commercial negotiation, performance management, dependency risk, and exit or consolidation decisions.
  • Strong grounding in performance engineering, capacity planning, resilience, recovery, and failure modes, based on real production experience.
  • Practical experience applying automation, AI, and agent-enabled engineering practices to improve delivery efficiency, quality, and repeatability without compromising control.
  • Experience owning technology budgets and P&L inputs, including cost transparency, investment trade-offs, and return on spend.
  • 20+ years leading technology delivery in complex, regulated environments, with accountability for large platforms, teams, and budgets.
  • Hands-on and detail-oriented where it matters; comfortable diving into delivery plans, designs, and incidents, while delegating effectively at scale.
  • Pragmatic and outcome-focused; values predictable delivery, operational stability, and continuous improvement over heroics.
  • Strong people builder, sets clear expectations, develops delivery leaders, and creates accountability.
  • Commercially astute; balances delivery speed, risk, and cost, and is comfortable making trade-offs explicit.
  • Influences through credibility, clarity, and breadth of understanding, and communicates effectively with executive, client, and regulatory audiences.
  • Must have indefinite right to work in the United States.
