About The Position

The Virginia Department of Health is currently seeking Sr. Grant Accountants to join our Office of Grants Administration. The Senior Grant Accountant will be responsible for the financial management and compliance of federally funded grants and cooperative agreements, with a primary focus on performing timely and accurate cash drawdowns using the federal Automated Standard Application for Payments (ASAP) system, the Payment Management System (PMS), etc.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200)
• Familiarity with the Cash Management Improvement Act (CMIA)
• Working knowledge of accounting and finance principles including accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Demonstrated attention to detail and audit documentation practices

Nice To Haves

• Experience with State accounting processes, procedures and applicable policies and laws
• Knowledge of federal payment systems (PMS, ASAP, G5, etc.).
• Understanding of internal control frameworks for financial and grants management.
