About The Position

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring customers have continuous access to innovation. The Networking team is seeking a results-oriented Global Supply Manager for Optical Transceivers to own supply planning and manufacturing capacity management with key optics suppliers. This role involves partnering with regional data center supply planning teams on forecasts and managing production planning with suppliers. Global Supply Managers are experts in planning, supply chain, and materials management, playing a crucial role in supporting AWS's growth by ensuring supply continuity.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of program, project or product management, or leading product implementation experience
  • 6+ years of related industry experience
  • 8+ years of data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience in global supply chain management, managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced consumer electronics product company
  • Experience in program, project or product management, or leading product implementation

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies
  • Experience in negotiations with global suppliers with a proven track record in cost reduction
  • Experience in procurement practices working with engineering, supply chain and Tier 1 OEM partners
  • Experience practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, or equivalent)

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute supply planning strategies to meet category, department, project, and customer needs.
  • Prioritize activities and align with stakeholders to deliver supply globally with a high degree of predictability.
  • Manage supplier relationships and allocation of material to demands based on priority.
  • Manage and optimize production capacity over a 12 month+ horizon.
  • Be a subject matter expert in the production process, lead time, and supply chain dependencies of your materials.
  • Manage cross-functional projects against plans and objectives to meet commitments and goals.
  • Identify and drive realization of opportunities for durable, relative advantage in your category.
