About The Position

The Rivian Supply Chain team is looking for highly motivated and exceptional purchasing professionals to drive our capital investment strategies. As a Senior Global Supply Manager, you will serve as a key individual contributor responsible for the end-to-end sourcing strategy and lifecycle management for CapEx projects. You will navigate complex sourcing initiatives, concurrently leading projects with medium to large spend and complexity while supporting the execution of multi-generational vehicle and facility strategies. In this role, you will drive the competitive bid process with moderate leadership oversight, proactively identifying system efficiencies and refining enterprise functionality to improve procurement speed and accuracy. You are expected to negotiate most commercial terms of a contract, utilize cost estimation models to close "should-cost" gaps, and maintain strong relationships with Tier 1 suppliers to protect Rivian’s financial and production interests. This position is based onsite in Atlanta (Social Circle), GA or Normal, IL or Plymouth, MI or Irvine, CA and reports to Director, Global Supply Management, Capex.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in creating commodity strategies and navigating various factors of impact (economic/political).
  • CapEx or Technical sourcing experience preferably within battery, automotive or electronics
  • Supplier management
  • Manufacturing or factory experience
  • Proficient in SAP, Basecamp, and cost estimation models.
  • Strong distributor of information; able to defuse conflicts and provide clear feedback to peers.
  • Ability to independently implement solutions for familiar problems and prioritize tasks to meet area-specific milestones.
  • Operates with moderate autonomy; manages responsibilities and assigned projects with periodic guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Concurrently lead projects with medium to large spend and complexity; drive the competitive bid process with leadership oversight and lead manager-level reviews.
  • Effectively use supply chain systems to support business needs; provide feedback on enterprise functionality and support the onboarding of new team members.
  • Lead supplier prospecting; create and drive a category or commodity strategy that supports the program while monitoring economic and political landscapes.
  • Negotiate most commercial terms with some legal involvement; utilize cost estimating outputs to close "should-cost" gaps and negotiate pricing with some leadership oversight.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of Tier 1 footprints and sub-tier suppliers; optimize contract timing to support long-term value for Rivian.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to provide detailed forecasting and costs that support long-term business plans.
  • Lead small-scale projects with autonomy; identify and mitigate low-complexity risks and provide proposals for resolution.
  • Translate complex datasets into an easily understood manner for executives; synthesize data from multiple systems to create comprehensive analyses.
