About The Position

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This team supports all AWS data centers and the equipment that ensures customers have continual access to innovation. The role involves working on challenging problems within the supply chain and collaborating with a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. The goal is to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost. The position is located in Seattle, WA or Austin, TX. Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides a highly reliable, scalable, and low-cost cloud platform. The AWS Infrastructure Service (AIS) organization focuses on delivering cutting-edge solutions for socially responsible data center supply chains. The AIS Power & Cooling team is seeking a results-oriented individual to manage sourcing and supply for Data Center Power & Cooling Equipment, driving the growth of AWS. The Procurement Manager will manage the end-to-end global sourcing and supply chain for categories within Power and Cooling Equipment for AWS Data Center build projects. The primary responsibility is to ensure unconstrained supply globally, understand demand signals, and develop appropriate supply strategies for continuity. This must be achieved while maintaining a low cost structure and adapting to volatile demand.

Requirements

• 2+ years of program, project or product management, or leading product implementation experience
• 6+ years of related industry experience
• 8+ years of data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent experience
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience in data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments
• Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies
• Experience in global supply chain management, managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced consumer electronics product company
• Experience in program, project or product management, or leading product implementation

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies
• Experience in negotiations with global suppliers with a proven track record in cost reduction
• Experience in procurement practices working with engineering, supply chain and Tier 1 OEM partners
• Experience practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage sourcing and supply chain strategies on a global scale
• Drive the strategic aspects of large complex cross-functional projects
• Develop and maintain supplier capacity modeling
• Understand demand inputs and position supply to support unconstrained growth at AWS scale in both the short-term and long-term horizons
• Engage with global supply chain counterparts to drive leading supply chain practices and initiatives
• Partner with engineering teams to drive NPI initiatives and value-engineering initiatives
• Drive innovation through the supply chain and influence industry practices
• Develop analytical reports to deliver information to business partners and stakeholders that support improved decision making
• Manage supplier lead times and drive them to meet AWS business requirements
• Manage supplier performance and allocation of material to demands based on priority
• Be a subject matter expert for the customers, technologies, and markets in which you engage
• Manage cross-functional projects against plans and objectives to meet commitments and goals
• Identify and drive realization of opportunities for sustainable, scalable, relative advantage in your category
• Requires travel up to 15% of the year
