About The Position

The Senior FP&A Analyst, working in collaboration with and in support of the firm’s strategic initiatives, analyzes current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of expenses and capital expenditures. Monitors performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances. Develops financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives. Analyzes complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills are required as well as the ability to present complex financial data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with software packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ERP.
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or similar field.
  • 5 years’ experience in a law firm, professional services firm or blue-chip organization with a focus on expense management and/or financial planning.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and external audiences.
  • Produce high-quality work and respond to correspondence in an efficient, timely, and professional manner.
  • Meet deadlines, manage competing priorities, and commit to meeting high standards.
  • Comply with firm policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidences as required in a law firm environment.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing experience and judgement, analyzing material aspects of $500m expense and capital expenditure program for administrative teams (i.e., CIO, CFO, COO, etc.).
  • Works directly with FP&A Manager – Expenses to consolidate results. Explains variances to budget and prior year results.
  • Develops budgets and forecasts for the groups, including bottoms up expense drivers and detailed documentation of assumptions.
  • Independently develops and produces reporting to support monthly close and annual planning processes based on previous experience.
  • Performs ad-hoc analysis leveraging data analytic skills as needed for new initiatives, cost anomalies and to identify cost savings opportunities.
  • Prepares and loads required journal entry adjustments to the company’s budget and actuals as required.
  • Proactively leads processes to identify cost savings opportunities across the organization.
  • Collaborates with other areas of FP&A including revenue and production planning.
  • Other duties as assigned.
